The problem: My 89 650sx is awsome, BUT, it starts fine, but when i start to go it boggs down, has no power and slooowwwllly accelerates, but rpms stay near the same no matter how much gas it gets. then all the sudden at a certain point it gets fast, and rpms work and the ski rocks. I can even stop it for a quick stop or what ever and go again fast. but if i let it sit too long, turn it off, or sub it, it becomes bogged down all over again and i have to go through the waiting game (apprx. 30-60 second) untill it warms up, kicks in, or stops being unresponcive. GOT ANY IDEAS GUYS?:sad2:

I would start with replacing your gas and oil... It sounds like it could have water in the gas. If that doesn't work, rebuild and clean the carbs. If you haven't ever done it before, watch someone so you can learn how... It's really easy...:fing02:

i use clear fuel lines. you may also have an air leak going into your high or low speed jet. make sure you are using proper methods of securing these lines. don't be lazy, use a clamp.

my fuel llines are clear going in there to. i didn't have a clamp and got the same result your getting. try that..

i zip tied all fuel hoses tight to their fitings, checked the one way valve- its fine... cleaned the carb, put new gas in.. checked for cracks in line. (havent checked to see if fuel is going throught the lines well. or checked compression.) How do i check compression?

Biggest problem with the tiny stock 28mm carb is the low speed jet cloggs real easy. Pull it out and make certain its clear, and check the filters.

If it has the external fuel pump, make sure it works and the pulse line is good.
