I am building this ski for a buddy that started off as a friendly bet with another guy that has a 550. What started as a few cheap bolt on mods off ebay has now turned into an all out 440 that is being built for freestyle. I know what most people are saying why dont you just put a bigger motor in it but he has to keep the 440 because thats how the bet started. He bought this ski last summer for $200 and it was bone stock. This thing is an 85' and in really good shape and clean. Dont think anything in the engine was ever taken apart looks like its all from the factory. Even still had the pumice stone air filter haha.
So here is the list of parts I got for it.
Westcoast pipe
PJS waterbox
Westcoast flame arrestor
Lightweight jetnetics flywheel
lightwieght aluminum driveshaft
quick steer plate
umi straight bars
watercraft factory footholds
Group K porting
Group k shaved head
Group K worked over carb
PJS 16.0 prop (might give impros a call and see what he can do for me)
I just got it all apart the other night and send the motor parts to group k. Now I got to pull the old driveshaft out. I have a rebuild kit for that when I put the new shaft in and I am also going to fill it with oil instead of grease.
I will get some pics of the build up in the next few days. Not really sure what to expect from this ski because I dont think anyone ever built a 440 for low end but we will see how it turns out. Maybe it will be the first 440 to barrel roll haha.
For now we are just going to run it on pump gas but if I get a 38 sbn carb so I can rejet it we will switch it over to E85 fuel 105 octane like are sj's so we can bump the compression up to the 200-210 range.
