wondering if this is done with a rad charging flywheel,seen it done alot on msd wheels?

I put it on once and it seemed ok,but have heard some bad stories since.thought it might be worth doing to get a better fit.
If you lap it doesnt that remove all the anodizing,no one will want it after that?
