44mm carb set up i'm lost.

and there was a sbn 46 right? i dont see it on mikuni's website, but im lookin at buyin what the guy calls a sbn46 hmmm... if someone could answer via pm, or on the other thread i posted in the general section thad be cool..dont wanna jack this guys thread anymore:fing02:

that diagram shows the inner workings, but it shows nothing about the actual lines in relation to the actual carb.

STUDY THAT DIAGRAM NEVERTHELESS

if you have a super bn (a square body on one side and a 45 degree rotated square body on the other), the 3 lines are:

top = fuel out to tank
middle = pulse
bottom = fuel in from tank

if you have a bn (round body on one side only and 'freeze plugs' in the other), congrats on your new paperweight.

matt, regular bn's are not "crap", you just have to know what you're doing when you tune them. most people don't like messing around with dialing them in because of the pilot screw. I've used them for years and years and I've never had any of the problems with them that I see most people complaining about. I actually prefer the regular bn's over the sbn's on single carb setup 550's because they're easier to tune and I don't have to keep interchanging the jets with a tray full of jets to dial one in.

15/16 of a turn on the top screw

1 and 1/8 on the middle,

1 and 5/16 on the bottom (pilot)

I usually go a tiny bit leaner at the top.

I'd trust you over amateurs like Harry Klemm any day.
You've proven that plenty of times.

this is where youre completely lost with your frequently blown, "high HP" engines, travis.

youre running these crap BN carbs and thinking that opening all, including the third adjustor, compensates for not having to remove those 'rediculous' ,pesky, and hard-to-read-without-bifocals jets.

yes, turning a screw and thinking, "yeah, that should be good", is easier than actually knowing how to tune an engine

from ridiculous power off idle, to insane top end ,WITHOUT FAILURE, is the key....

GOD DAMN... youre a caveman, travis... HAHA!

this is why you blow up engines.... because youre too cheap to buy real carbs!

:haha:

either that, or your skillz blowazz

matt, are you calling me, 'rediculous'?

....or the whole situation, "rediculous"?

either way, i think your initial lack of clarification on the matter is ridiculous.

you have absolutely no idea wtf you're talking about. I see you guys get on these forums coming off like geniuses and b!tch about "difficult to tune" carbs regarding regular bn's all the time and it just cracks me smooth the hell up, and what it basically boils down to is that you don't have any business even trying to "tune" them in the first place, let alone giving someone else advice on how to tune theirs, for christs sake. if you don't want to actually learn how to do it then let someone else do it for you. but don't trashtalk someone that knows.
why don't you just get into a hobby that your lazy attitudes can actually at least half way wrap your brains around. this one obviously ain't it..lol
