call these guys. its their busness to know.

I just called them. I have a 94 sn, and want tot do the back flip. They told me if I was realy good. I could do it with a 860 or more. I told him I have never tryed to do one( I know a 701 will not be able to do it ). He told me he would go with a 1000cc for a flat water. A 94 sn is long and heavy. It will be 8 gs for the motor. If you want the carbs, pipe, and so on you cna go up to 16 gs!:eek2: This is not for the poor at all.:icon16:

Oh and by the way you will have to git a new pump. This motor will put out so much power the pump will spin so fast it will be like it is not there! Just a FYI!

Backflips on flatwater aren't quite as automatic as some people perceive. A special purpose aftermarket hull with a huge motor is ideal, but it can be done on anything from a stocker with huge motor to an aftermarket hull with pretty decent motor. The most important factor is rider ability. It's not a trick that you can just buy. Only a tiny fraction of all freestyle standup guys can do it period, even with the best equipment.

This is true. You can do it wilth less power and a light hull. My prob is that I am 6'6" and come in at 236 LB. I have most of the other riders by at least 65 lb wich I ride with. No I am not fat. I just like to lift weights and be in good shape.

As fair a the ability I should have it. I was able to do 3 front flips in a row on the ground when I was in high school. I know water is not the same, but it is in the same relm in the air.

You still need to know were you are in the air.

I don't know. It might work for you. 802Steve up in Canada can do quick little backflips in about a foot and a half of surf and he's about your size. He rides the most beat squarenose ever and has an 802 Lamey.

I live in UT and there is a lake called bear lake. They get some good waves some times. I am going to try it there first! Good wave as fair as 1-2 feet max.

It is nice to be big some times and some times not ha ha. The girls love it ha ha..`

Definitly not flat water but still a small wave.
GDFL is correct we are similar sizes I'm 6'5" and about 215.

I think the SN backflip can be done with some Brapage, a shortened hull, trim and a skat pump. If mine was set up like that I would skip the setup wake and just do a tight 180 stab then pull back and bloop! There you go, flat backie on a SN! BTW, I've seen a Blaster flat roll at a IJSBA event like 7 or 8 years ago in south FL so I know it can be done.

Roll off the trailer? lol. Just kidding.

I heard that back in the day Warren Federwitz, a pro blaster freestyler, was doing them on flat water. The only video that I saw of him though looked more like an over-rotated bronco.

flat water flips

hey heres my myspace url
myspace.com/darren1ak
look at my videos, theres a 1200 billet twin running 110 race gas a custom hull, and a dry pipe, making well over 200hp, i dont know the guys name, sadly if forgot, he was verry very talented, and so was his son, and was way nice, hope you like the flatwater backflip,

I think the reason you don't see most guys doing backy's on square hulls is because when you're talking about a boat costing upwards of 20 grand, you might as well spend the extra couple hundred bucks and atleast get yourself a roundie topdeck. Then again, there aren't many roundie's backflippin either that aren't aftermarket hulls.

You live in norristown? I'm from king of prussia. Where do you ride at?
