MSD Enhancer Hook Up ?

701 superjet

I went to install it today and about 2 years ago I sent my E-box to Jet Ski Solutions and had there E-Box service done.

Anyways I was reading the instructions for the Enhancer and am stumped with the red wire coming off the MSD unit and the red wire with the fuse in it.

JSS changed the configuration of how all the red wires are hooked up and some have male ends and some have female ends which is diff from what the instructions say for hooking the MSD up.

So my question is from the looks of it to put it in easy terms it looks like all the red wires are just connected and it doesnt matter what order they are hooked up? Meaning I could cut them all strip them and put a wire nut on all of them together if I wanted.

So does it really matter what way I hook all the red wires up as long as there are all connected to eachother?

Thanks
Dan

You need to make sure the fuse gets put inline with the Enhancer. It protects the Enhancer in case of overcurrent.
To do that, the only red-wire path directly to the Enhancer must go through the fuse.

Well I wish I would of taken a picture of the inside but im almost positive that it doesnt matter what way you hook all the wires up as long as all the red ones are plugged in together along the line. because it would be the same as if I cut, stripped them all, twisted them all together and put a wire nut on them.

Im just hopeing I a right

He might have a reason, but that sounds like a bad idea IMHO.

If you hook up the battery backwards (even for just a half a second) you will fry the rectifier without a fuse.
Is t hat from experience???:fing02:Mine had no fuse and the wires were cooked.

Why not contact John at JSS directly? I was at his shop just the other day - he is extremely helpful.

That's what I plan to do when I get my enhancer... email digital pics and "ok John, what goes where?".
