fx-1 problem

so i just picked me up an fx1. it was running great had no problems. i decided to change the fuel lines to clear lines 4 s and giggles so i took the gas cap off on the gas tank from the inside of the ski siphoned all the old gas changed the lines and now it wont stay started. it runs 4 about 10 sec and dies. i can see threw the lines and there is no gas running threw the lines from the tank its not sucking it up whats the deal??????????????

make sure the lines arent reversed and that the pulse line is hooked up correctly

i took them off one at a time i dont know how i would of reverse them but anyone know where a can see a diagram of where the lines should go and whats the pulse line????

if no gas is running, how is it staying on for 10 seconds? if there is no gas in the lines and you do not have a choke on the ski, put your hand over the carb and hold the start button. that will suck the gas from the tank into the lines. make sure your gas cap isnt cracked, that could make you lose pressure in the tank. and of course make sure the fuel selector in the tray is on either reserve or on and not accidently in the off position

lol I had about a 15 min. talk with one of the members about this last week. OK so....the pulse line is the outlet on the carb that is separated from the other 2 (the 2 that match up vertically). That pulse connects to the manifold, so you should have a really short line.

On your fuel selector the "on" line goes to your "on" pickup

Your reserve line from your fuel selector goes to your "reserve" pickup

Your off or "out" hose on your fuel selector goes to the bottom outlet of the 2 that match vertically on the carb.

The outlet on the top of the carb goes to one of the nipples.

The other nipple is for your water seperator.

I actually just had a similar problem. My engine was freshly rebuilt and had a lot of oils in the engine. Anyway, I could start it but then it would die about 3 seconds later (15 times or so.) I then switched out the spark plugs and poured some gas in the carb and it fired right up and stayed running. Haven't had a problem since.

it starts with a shot of starter fuild and will run for about 10 sec b4 bogging out i dont know how lol and ill take pics 2morrow hopefully 1 of u guys can tell me if i have a line switched i did un screw the fuel selector and i did have 2 lines off at the same time might have switched them and i put the fuel selector back on it just pop on it can only fit back on one way right????

there is some gas in the lines spaced out not a soild flow then it just stopped getting any gas but stared fluid pull the primer and its good for 10 sec. i just bought it and i have never been on an fx1 just sj and 750's

Just read my previous posts and do what I said. If you don't know what I am talking about or where something goes, just go to the next step and do process of elimination. Its all there in black and white (well actually white and blue) lol.

My fuel selector is upside down because its the "cool" thing to do.

put it on reserve and try it that way too. make sure the fuel selector isnt clogged. you could also pull the fuel line off the carb and blow in it to create pressure in the tank and the gas will come squirting through the line

Are your pickups sealed? Gas cap on tight? Both nipples are taken? If you leave any openings, your gas tank will collapse and nothing will happen. Make sure all your hoses are secured and they are hooked up properly as stated in my previous post.

ill start with blowing the line and go from there i cant even change my lines with no problems cant wait till i take my pump off and give it to bonzai bob lol thanks for the help hopefully shes running 2morrow

this thread is running as fast as a chat room, i didnt see your post that said you primed it. primers go bad also, im not sure if they stop pumping or have an air leak when they break but that could be another place you are losing pressure

i have had it for about 2 weeks and it ran b4 i changed the lines without any problems stone cold with no starting fluid hopefully i just mixed up a line 23/m/ca

Haha, when I was in jr. high and AIM first came out, I always went in the chat rooms and that same phrase always came up. I ALWAYS clicked on it and I would just be like "damnit! I dont have a credit card! Why does this girl want a credit card!!!" lol, amazing...
