Most of the time when a metal pipe/tube fails, the fail spot is not the only weakened spot. Unless it's a rub spot. Your least headache bet is most likely replace the whole section.

Even getting the section directly from the manufacturer will most likely be somewhere close to the price of the kit.

But you wouldn't get to splice.

"splicing" makes the world go round!
"splicing" is what dreams are made of!

It was a rub spot that caused the leak....the bracket holding the line rubbed through it!

The repair kit I would need only costs $15 on the website.

I have looked into getting the entire line but a used one that may or may not hold up cost $250.
It is also a huge many hour job to get that line in and out complete! Talking $1000+

I have really easy access to the corroded leak portion of the line.

That repair kit link is the only solution I found that seems like it may work!
Just wondering if anyone has ever tried one of those repair kits?

We can be bought off to not turn you in for the federal offense you committed by blowing all that freon into the atmosphere!! J/k

trust me, I tried to stop the leak in a panic with some JB water weld stuff!

While trying to apply it, the freon turned the chunk of JB along with my finger into a frozen solid rock! My finger tips are still messed up!

Theoretically it should be possible to splice. Because of the intense, constant pressures involved, I wouldn't trust it. I think when the engine is off the pressure's well in excess of 100PSI.
