Yeah, we'll see. Time will tell for the both of us. I'm uncomfortable with the fact that the bones are not up against eachother. They are supposed to fill in and kinda spackle or mud together as one. Doc says, it'll work out well.

I can't speak for people, but on a break like that in a dog or cat, it would be healed enough to remove the splint/cast in 6-8 weeks depending on how well the owner confined the animal and the age of the animal. Young pup or kitten it could be sufficiently healed in 5-6 weeks. It would probably take another 3-4 weeks to reach full strength on the repair, but with a paired bone like that, you don't need full strength on the little bone as long as the big one (that takes almost all the weight) is full strength. You just need it healed enough to not move anymore and it's all good (at least as far as when it's time to remove the cast).
