What are some of the pro's and cons of front or rear exhaust? which is better and why?!? I figured I would bring this up because I have my ski ripped apart and would just like to do all the good upgrades I can before I paint it and put it back together.

I had both and went back to just rear. I really dont see the advantage of front. I have just rear now and can still do tailstands and recover out of stuff just as fast as when i had both.

Front exhaust only helps when you are doing monkey jumps, 50/50's, tail stands. Other than that there is no benefit. Makes the ski's a bit noisier as well.

BK hit it right on the money. But if you like those then there is no substitute for it. I personally wouldn't live without it. I do too much playing around near the boat dock and in the no wake zones to not have it.

i just bought a dual front rear exaust kit,,my js has the front and i hated my sx with out it,to me iff u riding flat water u should get one,i also like a loud ski

Loud ...LOL you should pair your dual front rear setup with a TDR waterbox. You want loud... that might get you ran off your local lake. I know my setup could get me thrown off my lake so I take it easy when the right people are out there and Flood the waterbox with water to keep it quiet.

I had put a front exhaust on my RN in 2006 for flatwater freestyle.
Over the following 2 years, I found it was just messy and noisy. Not worth it at all.
So I got rid of it.
Best un-modding ever.

i guess I will just stick with the rear. does anybody have the pipe/tube that runs from the waterbox to the bulkhead what it connects to the rear exit? mine had some ghetto rigged crap on the using some stainless pipe and a bunch of blue couplers. For one it was very ugly and for two eack of the sections of pipe probably weigh 2LBS.

Mine is just a rubber hose...Weighs about 3 lbs. I was thinking about going side/front exhaust as well since the rubber hose and rear tubing were probably about 6-7lbs together. I then remembered what it was like riding my buddies 650sx. The exhaust stained the side of the hull and pumped exhaust and splashed water in your eyes at idle. I kept the rear...

I've seen a few threads about worst mods and quite a few people said side/front exhaust was by far their worst mod.

Yup, F- front exhaust. Chit is for the birds, I learned the hard way, and now I have to deal with it. I pulled out the rear exhaust, and put my scupper in that side. Most retarder thing I did to my ski.... I only realy did it to save another few pounds. NOT WORTH IT!!!!

I apoligize in advance for having one of the loud noisy ski's at Daytona:thumbsdown:

And that is why I did it..... Good mod, only if you want to compete Flat water and learn the tricks BK mentions. Weight does add up....

get out and ride
i can do tail stands also with a rear ex but with a front you get more power because you dont have the water plugging half the ex tube

I have had front only for over a year. The only down side for me is the extra washing. I did it because it was one of the spots where I was getting a lot of water in my hull. Maybe I could have sealed it better but I already did it twice. And there is the weight.

post up in the want to buy section someone might have one sitting around. also post it up on pwctoday.com

craig568 has the trd waterbox on his 750 with a coffman pipe and it sounds pretty good. it is not loud but it sound nice.

They say that Xmetal box has a mellower sound but I would bet it is still LOUD. They are available with just a phone call. But watch this video you can hear one ski that is louder than the rest expecially at the 2:50 mark. It's really LOUD you can hear it over the other skis out there.
