Coming off the best freeride this area has EVER seen we hit the ground running and starting planning for next year. The riding was awesome and the people where great but the location was lacking. Having to constantly shuttle people/stuff out to the island and back took a toll on many and the weather and lack of shelter did too. This year we are looking at a cool campground located further south from last year, Lake City, MN on the Mississippi river (the St.Croix we rode on last year connects to the 'sippi between here and our last ride) The area is called Lake Pepin and is a large "lake" where the river widens, still providing access to many huge boat wakes (40'-50'+) and also enough room for our huge group to spread out.
I don't know if anybody on the X even looks at this section but I hope that a few more midwest riders get the idea that its worth the drive...last year we had over 100 attendees and 75+ standups but didn't even get a quick shot on the front page like the other rides. Check back for more updates.

The date is set, August 7th - 9th will be the 2009 TCJP sortie. This year we will be at Hok-Si-La campgrounds in Lake City, MN. A large block of campsites has been reserved, the cost for camping will be $15/per person per night. Regardless of the number of people in a tent, it will be $30 each person for Friday and Saturday night. This allowed us to negotiate placing many more tents in the area. Right now I will only be accepting reservations for 2 night stays.

Just to be clear, if you and your girlfriend are staying in a tent for both nights, it will be $60 total.

YOU ARE NOT RESERVING A PARTICULAR CAMPSITE. We are reserving a block of campsites and will be allowed to more or less pitch tents where we see fit - as long as they are evenly distributed in the area.

That said, campsites are sort of limited....we do not have an exact figure as to how many people we can fit but we are confident that we will be able to have as many people as last year just at this campgrounds. If this site fills up there are other campsites, hotels and RV parks available within a couple miles. If you do not want to camp, get in contact with me and I can provide you information for hotels in the area.
We will be updating hopefully a new 2009 TCJetpilots Sortie section with more information, links and pics in the near future.

Hope to see a few new faces!

Sitdowns are fine, we had ~75 standups last year and probably 15-20 sitdowns.

what about my brother he just got his coast guard boaters licence so will he be fine riding around at age 12 or would u rather have him ride away from everyone

That really depends on the laws...Im not sure that he can legally pilot a PWC by himself in Minnesota but would have to check.
