well i got my cyclone footholds installed and i've got two layers of fiberglass on so far. Should i do another coat of fiberglass or any type of filler, or is this good enough?
also this came with my r&d turn plate, whats it for??
did you screw or rivet those holds in? it looks like there may be some hollow spots in your glass. if there are hollow spots and water can get in it will water log the foam. so grind down any spots not completely stuck down and reglass it til it is completely sealed.
by resting gently in the garbage? no serioulsy I have never put one on. I am sure it must be pretty simple.
crab that is way to smooth to just conform to what you had there. it looks like you foamed it and sanded it smooth before you glassed it. but it does look like his hold is not up tight to the side. that is why I asked about screws to draw it up. nice install btw. even though I hate those ankle breakers you have in there.
yea i used screws and epoxy to put them in then i took the screws out and glassed over the holes. should i not use strips of the fiberglass material or whats the best way to cut it so u wont get any air pockets? this is my first time doing anything with fiberglass so im kind of learning as i go.
one piece on the bottom. wet it out completely and keep pushing out the air. the cloth should go see thru. I would cut longer strips and run it with the foothold instead of across it. but I think its more important to make sure its sealed watertight and that you have enough material to keep it installed. pics can be misleading. you may be just dandy with one more layer.
are you going to drill a hole in the top and pour foam in to give it back support?
Maybe try some fiberglass tape 2" wide to go around the edges of the foot wells.
When you wet out the cloth use a playing card to squigee off the biggest excess of resin then use a roll of toilet paper to "roll" off the rest of the excess resin. Don't "blot" the resin off.
I also layed down 2 layers of 50/50 weave carbon cloth on the tray at around 45 degree angles to each other for some reinforcement.
opps you posted a minute before I did. It looks a lot better. Good job if it's your first fiberglass work.
