KTM maybe?

Why is all this different from jet skis? You don't tell a novice rider to buy a built round nose with low hours. You tell them to buy something to get on the water to make sure it's worth it. I'm here trying to buy a decent squarenose and you guys are telling me to save up and buy the full freestyle roundnose. Help me out here, I'm confused. I have no riding buddies here and the best places to ride are 45 minutes away. I haven't yet convinced myself that this thing won't be collecting dust a year from now.

this is exactly what happened to my with my WRX....I cheaped up at the end when I should have spent the extra money on an STi..

I have played this game before and now know to just save and buy what you really want...it will save you money in the long run

yeah, I can think of some other things too.... cheap bastard!!!!!!!

if you give that bike a good look over and it has no major flaws AND he will let it go for 1500$ than thats a good deal.you dont need a brand new bike to have fun.200hrs is not a ton of hrs for a 300 either.im sure its ready for a piston but thats very easy to do on these bikes,im sure you can handle it.

(disclaimer)just be easy on the go grip.the 300 is not a toy.

My 200 has crazy brap I can't even imagine a 300.

Just go with what you can afford and what fits you right now. You can always sell down the road if its something you really enjoy. It will be a blast.

and you are saying trail tiding is gay???? You have got to be kidding me.

Sunday we rode from 10am till 3:30pm w/ 2 breaks totaling about 30 minutes. You ride 1 hour in a whole day??? That's not worth going out there and getting dirty for...

If you find a bike you like and enjoy get it. I was planning on spending $2500
not sure what brand to buy for my first bike I was actually thinking Yamaha till I looked into KTM and decided that was the best bike for me. They come with a lot of goodies from the factory and the motorcycle title sealed the deal so I can plate it and not just trailer it every time I want to ride. I ended up spending $3200 but got a bike I really enjoy. We also got all of our gear at great closeout prices on the internet. We each spend about $400 on top of the line gear thanks to Katie for searching the net.

garrett I can see your face getting red as you type this :Banane26:

there's nothing wrong with a 1500 dollar bike..just understand there are ALOT more moving parts and stuff to wear out as compared to a jetski

garrett, its an expensive sport. there is no question.

bikes require maintenance and attention to detail way more than skis do. if something breaks on your ski while youre riding, wahtever, you can laugh it off and get towed in... no bigs... if something happens while youre 3rd gear pinned somewhere....

ride safe, ride with good equipment, dont skimp on anything..

it is an extremely rewarding sport. you feel awesome at the end of a day of riding.

I'm thinking maybe a go-ped with knobby tires is what I need. I'll never be able to hang with you guys with the pressed riding outfits and 2010 model bikes.

you gotta think of it this way... its kinda like entering a jetski in a "i have the prettiest jetski" competition.

I'm only going hardcore into one sport at a time. I have way way too many hobbies to get very seriously involved in more than one.

salt water fishing can get rediculous. I wish I had more discipline. Even living on the boat, I have too much crap. I have gear for hunting, camping, rc boats, rc airplanes, rc cars, standups, freshwater fishing, flats fishing...it's a bit silly and I'm trying to tame it down. I keep resisting the urge to buy any more rc crap and I haven't spent more than $5 on fishing stuff since we moved so I guess I'm getting there.

i was gonna put my calmato 60" trainer on craigslist last night. taking up too much room in the garage. i havent flown it ONCE, lol. field box, 2 controllers w/trainer cable, starter, fuel pump, etc etc etc etc...

i've been ULTRA ghetto with my fishing stuff (minus the gps stuff, that got kinda pricey), but, the boat, the motor, my rods, etc, have all come from craigslist. i got two sick trolling rods w/aftco rollers and reels (penn senators 3/0 and 6/0) for $75. i been nasty ghetto with the fishing stuff at least. the ski and mx stuff ive gone "somewhat" legit on. i did buy a new mx bike a year ago (And then sold it when doc said no more mx), but i did buy "last year's model", not the latest/greatest, and that alone saved me about $2000 to be honest.

I would say fly it, but once you get used to it, you'll want a more sporty model and then you start down that wicked path of hundreds of dollars. I used to spend stupid amounts of money on that crap. It got to the point that I got a 10% discount from the hobby shop because I bought so much stuff there. I moved and came back a year later and they guy was like "where have you been? You need to buy something"
