Missing Motocross!!!!!

yeah I'm gonna have to completely disagree on that, maybe that works out in Florida..... not going to happen in Cali bro. if your not advanced, do us ALL a favor and stay off the track, period. your risking injuries to your self and USUALLY to someone else.:twak: i have way too many stories of squids on the track which involve injuries and almost deaths.

oh yeah, this thread started off funny.....and is now turning ridiculous....

that's how I thought it was.... no need for me to get in the way of bad ass 12 year olds....

seriously though.... I don't like doing stuff in front of people unless I am good at it and totally understand how it could be very dangerous to be out there in the way of "track riders"... To me woods is about the experience and fun, track is too serious for me...

ha ha ha ha....
I'm sure they would be pissed if I stopped and sparked up a dube in the middle of the track ane then took a piss.... got to love the woods!!!!

the truth is: most of the track riders that are all serious about the "posers" on the track are just faster posers. :Banane26:

That is the helmet I wear. Fox v3 its a nice helmet. I am sure he will lap me. I spend most of my time picking my bike up LOL. But for only riding a motorcycle 5 times in my life I am sure I will get better. Trail riding is fun to me. I haven't been to a motorcycle track I am sure its fun and would love to try it but so far I LOVE riding the trails even though I have taken some tough spills.

word! i rock a v3 too. ive got 3 of 'em so far. current lid is a v3 as well.

at seminole, they run the mx track "open practice" usually all day, they do split up the sx track tho. so, depending on your skill level, and what you feel like riding, if you dont want to risk riding with beginners on the track, you can ride A-B only on the SX track... if you dont mind going around a few beginners, you can ride on the mx track.

i know what you mean about being "in the way". i get that way about the A-B riders. usually, if i hear a 4stroke riding on the revlimiter coming up behind me, i'll just hold my line and slow down a bit.. theyll rail right around you.. no worries.. our tracks are pretty safe and we have EMTs on sight. its all good.

the nice thing about seminole is you always have a choice.

bring yo' sorry ass MX BIKE to the woods then. :lmao:

bring your 36 gallon gas tank, headlights, turn signals, kickstands, horn, tank map, gps, laptop, camel back to the track..... its manicured, predictable, boring, and repetitive, you should be lapping me in no time with your hardcore trail riding awesomeness.
:haha:

you really are scared of trees arent you?

besides, the deal was, you come to the woods and run me down. c'mon. all that hard core MX skill must translate really well into the woods. should be easy money for you.

I'll even run with my GPS, kickstand, running my lights, and even carry my camelback with tools and all. :nutkick:

turns is not the only problem when dealing with un-experienced riders....... its the triples and whoops....... let me ask you this than, have you ever banged a turn in 3rd, blown through the whoops, comeing into a turn to only veer around a squid who almost T-bones you in the turn cuz he decides he wants to enter the turn low, ride across the turn and exit high.....to than click 5th to hit the tripple.......only to be horrifed to see a squid rolling over the landing.....RIGHT INFRONT OF YOU?
have you ever been to the track to only be horrified to see a squid.....RIDING THE TRACK BACKWARDS!?

ive seen friends leave the track with broken limbs due to a squid, ive watched my best friend get run over by half the fleet cuz he missed basically killing a squid, fell, and left with a cracked helmet and broked wrist...........ive even had a friend whos bestfriend DIED at the track becasuse he hit a jump....the right way....while a SQUID hit the jump the wrong way and the hit eachother in the air............

i dont think so...............so please, if you are in-experienced, dont learn to ride on a track, dont tell people to go to the track.........its all fun and games riding a track, infested with squids, untill sombody dies.

wow that was a rant.............

ok FOR THE RECORD................................. it is easier for a trail rider to ride a track because they ride the elements and have experience with different things, than it is for a track rider to ride trails cuz a track rider only rides the same thing.

DONE!

I understand what you're saying, but what are you supposed to do if you are new? How do you get track experience if you aren't supposed to ride on the track? Segregation by skill makes sense, but it's a bit elitist to say that those that aren't already experts can never ride. Kinda limits the sport a bit.

if you ride trails and the desert youll aquire skills to ride a track, there are track in the hills and the deserts aswell. if you learn to ride on the trails first youll also be a more well rounded rider.

it just takes time to be able to ride a track and by basically saying "come one come all" isnt good and you will see people ridding WAY over there heads.

i mean think of it this way, when some one is learning how to ride a stand-up you dont tell them to learn in the surf on a over-head day do you? so you wouldnt tell someone who is still learning to ride to do ride a super-cross style track....with 20-40 guys on it with them.

good info... I agree w/ your take on riding... People say riding in the woods is lame, but it depends on how you ride. If you can push the limits w/ trees 6" from your bars, you will just be that much better when you get to the level to hit the track....
