I dropped the X2 in the water for a test run today, the new mods are Msd total loss, dual cooling, pipe drilled and tapped for water injection ,Seadoo water regulator valve installed, pump drilled and tapped for an extra fitting to quieten the exhaust, jetworks valve installed in the resonator water injection line,I think I turned the low speed out 1/4 turn and set the idle, thats it no other adjustments necessary. This thing starts and idles much smoother, most of the paint shaker effect is now gone.Bottom end is about as good as it is going to get which for a 720 its pretty damn impressive.I am waiting on the SXR prop to get here ,if it does I will install it tomorrow as well.:brap:

yeah x2... really like the avatar. Could use one after today. I just got my rig running after dropping in a fpp wet pipe and twin carbs. Lookin' to ride this weekend. Cullman might be a little outta the way for me, being that I live near the water. Lake martin wouldn't be a bad trip though.

I have been having a problem with this thing restarting when warm, sometimes you have to hold the gas wide open ,sometimes you have to hit the primer, just hard to get the combination right to make it crank.Jetting is pretty much spot on.I had to think about it a while before it came to me.

The 720's have a weak carb signal once you get bigger than 38mm on the carbs, the dual carbs work fine even with aftermarket flame arrestors. The single setups don't like flame arrestors at all.So the 48mm carb was probably a bit much especially with the westcoast flame arrestor.

What I did today was install a 40mm I series that I modded for a accell pump setup, instant throttle response and pretty much instant starts ,I have yet to put it in the water though. That will probably happen tomorrow,at least now jetting changes will be much nicer, like 5 minutes or so,I believe the main jet is fairly close but I think the pilot jet is too rich.At any rate I will know for sure tomorrow afternoon.

I wrapped up the intake ,carb and flame arrestor installation this morning and took it out for a ride, idles perfect now, pilot jet is spot on,main jet is spot on ,popoff pressure needs to be lowered some,it actually cranks now when you bail off it,plus the acell pump gives some pretty good brap off the bottom,I have about got this one nailed down.It did lose a little bit on top end but I can live with that, next mod will probably be a Blackjack 44 or 46 but for now I am happy with it!

I am pulling it back apart ,riding season is not over but I still have the SX to ride, there are some hull problems I have been ignoring that have just gotten too big to ignore any more. The main one being that after jumping and landing hard the engine contacts the bottom of the hull.I have a fix but to do it I have to remove the engine anyway. This engine is going into a GTI that I have bought to resell. The next engine is getting porting, more compression and a Blackjack carb,I could go much bigger on the bore but the set of ported cylinders I am getting are at std bore so that is what I will be running.I am only at about 165 compression now and I want to bump that to 180-185.I am alos looking at upgrading to a 46-48mm Blackjack carb,I think this motor can handle as much carb as you can throw at it if the carb signal strength is there.I als have a SXR prop being modded to fit the 650 pump, this is going to be a blast! :Banane37:
