Color Rite is the only company you can get OEM colors for Yamaha jet skis...

paint and body shops can hand match, but that is still just eying it...

true
but even the color right stuff won't always match
shoot even yamaha can't make it match themselves

i had to tweak and tweak mine with blues and purples till i was happy with my match

yeah... it's the closest though... that purple blue color is horrific to match... they really should have stuck w/ black or white w/ graphics

That's not always true there are many shades of black and many shade of white; go to paint store and ask to see the mix formula you'll be surprised to see what other colors are in there.

If you paint it with pure black pigment with the binding agent I'm almost sure it wouldn't be a perfect match.

Also if you having trouble with them mixing the right color ask them to put a small sample of each pigment in a separate container so you can perform the color match, a lot of paint stores will do this for the same cost as the paint.

that's what i had to do
when i got my " superjet blue" form blowsion it was way off. i took it to the local auto paint store and she hooked me up huge with all the tints i could need . pro bono.
strainers and cans etc. then she told me how badly i got robbed

finish master is awsome

oh yeah but back to black
when i used to have my black jeep it was rough matching the black too
but at least on somthing that dark that absorbs light it's harder to see the difference

shades of black???? he he, no such thing. Black is not a color, a shade or a tone. Black absorbs color and reflects no color...

now white is totally different, it is a color.

I've used sherwin williams automotive paint, and it was a near perfect match. And as far as black, there are many shades of. I worked in the auto paint industry for about a total of 17 years. Black is probally the second worst color to white to color match.

I know this is old but We shoot Sherwin Williams and if you go under the "Fleet" section on the computer Yamaha waverunner is in there With like 5 diff shades of blue. I got a NICE match on and 08 (pretty purple) and my 99. I know PPG has motorcylce colors and prob skis too...

you'd think after all these years that the color formula would be available from yamaha.
iremember about 23 years ago contacting the kawi factory in the states to get the exact imron code for the 550 red.
still have it for the optic red and glacier white i think.
