ok following up on this...I should have used the epoxy resin instead of the polyester resin...I also read that the polyester resin does bond to the hull just not as good as the epoxy resin.

BTW...I didnt use very much of it...just surface scratches..

So I hope it will work...I'll find out the hard way...just like most everything else I have done.

so after the second application has dried (somewhat) I found that the primer has a rough lumpy feel to it...I think i should have thinned it out...
I have to find Xylene or Naptha for thinning the gloss white when I apply it tommorrow.

I think for filling the scratches you'll be ok. Your just using it as bondo. I cheated awhile back and laid a small section of cloth to cover a stress crack using poly on an X2 hull. The next day it delaminated as I was loading the ski on the trailer.

I'm done painting....3 coats and waited several hours between coats...just letting it dry over night before I turn the hull around

a little speckly IMO...but at least she's shiny.

well this project was a fail!
the paint is way to splattery...even after properly thinning it out.

and the paint is a slightly off white color..

so a big F to me.

It's the bottom of the hull... It doesn't need to be perfect. You'll scratch the paint up anyway. Leave it be and just do a better job on the top.
