it has more engine, less pump, and is a BIT lighter, a better hood design ( stays dryer inside)

they are fun.

I personally prefer the superjet, mainly because of the larger pump, it hooks up better.

wife wants me to convert her FX1 to a larger pump, so I might change mind after riding a FX1 with the larger pump in it.

FX-1 is an awsome ski......by far the most fun IMO over superjet's or SXR's. I have never driven a polaris octane so untill I drive an Octane, the FX-1 is my all time favorite!

ok cool, what is the polaris octane like?

its doesn't exist ! !!

sorry couldnt resist..

octanes are even harder to find than the fx-1. i think ive only seen 1 for sale in the last 2-3 years, though i've read that they are blast to ride, even in stock form.

they are are desirable ski..

The FX-1 handles like a 550...sh*tty and the stock pump sucks. But the 701 power and light weight are cool.

HAHA!

Great fun ski!
Depends on what your looking to do. FX1 is no good for racing. It shares many components as the RN making it fairly easy to modify. Definately a step up from a 440,550,650,750. Maybe a step sideways from a SN.

The FX1 with a big pump in the surf is a lot of fun.

i think 2800 is high...

ski LOOKs clean.. and has a B pipe.
its a $1500 ski ( if its mechanically solid) the pipe adds $600 or so of value to it.

that same money would put you into a square or round nose superjet that you wouldnt have to do a pump swap in...

the Fx1 is NO fun with the stock pump, so figure that costs some $$$ to do...

jst my humble worthless opinion...

i rode a fx1 with pipe head and some other goodies even had a 144 pump in it. for a single carb ski it was a blast. took some getting used to coming from a superjet but i think an fx1 with a ported motor and some tubbies or similar it would be a great set up.

I disagree,

the FX-1 is very very fun even with the stock pump. I have 2 superjet 701's and two FX-1's. the superjets never get used while the FX-1's get used almost everyday!!

Get the FX-1 and you will never have to buy another ski. They are even super fun in stock form!

Yeah someone explain about exchanging for a bigger pump...I dont know much about swapping, I hear people use kawi pumps and 144s. How much is this and how easy is the process? I really want to know about this because I dont plan on selling my fx1 anytime soon. any estimates or feedback would be great!
