Ski ran great until my carb fell off!?! WTF?

Yes my carb fell off today when I was playing on the river. I know it was tight when I put my new motor in... Somehow the engine shakes enough that I shook the mounting bolts from the carb. After towing the ski in to shore, I was looking for the missing nuts and found that one of the cylinder base nuts also came off. WTF!?! Should I use nylon insert lock nuts on everything? I'm getting tired of something breaking everytime I take the ski out!!

Also does anyone make a good throttle cable adapter for the 44 mikuni carb?

Thats happened to me more than once. The nylon ring in the Nylock nuts does not hit the threads of the carb mount posts....so thats not worth it either. RED locktite and let it sit for a day before taking it out, seemed to solve my carb ejection problems. Also clean the posts and nuts with carb cleaner before installing them.

Really funny for me, because my big pin 750 shook EVERYTHING loose on it atleast once. They dont like to stay tightened up.

are you somehow trying to say this is not normal? huh! who knew?

loctite everything. red and blue are your friends.:bananapowerslide:

Question for when that happens to you guys. I assume that before the ski dies, the mixture is all messed up as it is sucking in soooo much air. So, when it is sputtering are you or have you detonated at all? Damaged the head/domes?

When you have bolts/nuts coming loose like that, it's sometimes a sign of detonation which causes high frequency vibration which will loosen things.
