FX-1 Shorten Pole?

Anyone have any feedback on shortening an fx1 pole. I like the way the RN is with a -2 pole, but not sure how the fx1 will be.

I haven't ridden an fx1 since last fall, so I forget how the stock length feels. Mines currently in the middle of an overhaul, just about ready for paint and would rather shorten it now or not at all.

mine is shortened 2 1/2" and I like it. I shorten it from the top instead of bottom and it maintains the pole to hood shape/clearance. I never understood why people remove the length from the bottom of the pole??

Well my pole is already short so I am going to keep it that way........God, I hate my Dad!!!!!!!!!!

I always shortened mine from the bottom because that is where it snapped off.

But I have -7 inches on my SJ and I kinda like the feel of a stock length pole on the fx-1's after a while on the fx-1 I want to lengthen the pole on the SJ.

Compared to a Superjet, yes. The top aluminum piece is shorter (except for '08).
