x metal chin pad question

just ordered a xmetal chinpad from watercraft factory

my question is do you chop the tabs off the pole to connect the pad to it with screws?

a lil input would be great

I think you trim the tabs on the pole to achieve a best fit for your particular pad

yes you have too. I ususally measure 6 3/4 inches in between both tabs with a little more on the steering side to clear the cable tumbler end.
