Double-bolt pole/bracket set-up question

ok, i'm going to go the double bolt setup on my new ski... question i have is this: I am running an AC pole... and the bushings do not go through the width of the pole, meaning that once i install the bolts, the inside double nut will be crushing against the pole itself.

I was thinking about trimming another set of bushings to fit on the back side, or installing a devcon washer... that way it's not SS bolt on aluminum pole. Basically would have a set of bushings on both sides of the pole itself.

Thoughts? Has anyone else come across this? Does it not matter?

Thanks for any input guys...

Your ideas sound good I would definitely get a washer or something in there, I would probably use a UHMW washer.

Be prepared to tighten the bolts a lot.

Thanks Mark. yeah, i run a single bolt on my '01 SJ, with a spring, but i have it tightened pretty good, so it stay's pretty much where i put it, but not so tight that it feels like you can't move it.

I'm not entirely sold on the double bolt set up, thought i'd give it a try before picking up another spring and single bolt.

Yep I tried the double bolt set up a few years ago and didn't care for it, I like the weightlessness of the spring and bolt tightened up.

i hear ya... i like the feeling of being more fluid and one with the machine/water... rather than a feeling like i'm fighting it or working too hard with it.

the bolt heads are suppose to be on the inside, that way there is room for the dual breather tubes, the nuts are outside, but you still may need a washer....(having to visualize the AC Pole.)

Frosty are your bushings like these on my AC pole? I picked up a pole and the bushings were $hit so I had to make some. Im out of teflon bar stock or I could send you some.
I had thought about going to the double bolts but not sure if I sould like the pole being that stiff.

nice. No, my AC bushings are about 3mm short of being flush with the inside of the pole.
