I'm gettin ready to install breather tubes for Louie's hood. Whats the best way to secure the tubes to the hood? I'm using 2" ID pool vacuum hose tubing. What's the probs with drilling the holes and no hoses? I've got a small breather hose 1-1/4" in pole bracket, but planning to breathe x2 for hood?

drill holes and no hoses means water going all over the place.... the hoses direct air/water towards the bottom of the hull

I just stuck the hoses into the holes... I did not seal around them with any sealant... I wondered if this was cool, or if most guys use some kind of rtv or "the right stuff" or something around those hoses... the fit pretty good in the holes... not to jack your thread, but I figured you may be interested as well

I had one in my blaster that actually ran down into the hull and along the side of the engine.... I did this with a vacuum tube just like you're doing... you dont need to do that though... just get it down far enough so that if/when water comes in the tube that it will put it at the bottom of your hull... 3/4 is prob good...

3M 5200 should hold them in.

yeah, you can use 3m 5200, but i just used fiber glass epoxy/reisen with some 404 filler around the top side.

I just make the hole small enough to thread the hose into the liner no sealant needed.

What about on the WDK diablo hood where they are pre-drilled at like 2 and 1/8 inches?

That is the hood I am using with the hose he supplied... it threaded into the hood, but I didnt know if it would leak around the hose "threading" enough to cause a problem... I think it should be ok....

I bought mine "new" from Highroller but he didn't send any breather tubes. Dang!
