Hey guys, Im a Pa transplant now living in Ft Laud. I raced B class motocross up North, and want to get into it again. I wanted some opinions and insight into the racing scene around here-any locals? It seems the sxr is the favorite for racing, sj for freestyle. I am looking for something around 2500, and prefferably modded( I am 225, not a feather weight) Can you help a brother out? Note the caps on the title, try to not turn this into a Kaw vs Yam flameout, not my goal. Plus everyone knows Honda is the leader in motorsports, ne way:jester:
Thanks Keith

SXR is your best bet for racing. Your going to be hard pressed to find one for 2500, but if you can scrape closer to 3000 you should be able to pick one up, most likely be a stocker but that is a great class to race anyhow.

I think he was kiddng on the honda. For that kinda money though you might finda a sxr in need of some TLC

Hell no, I wasnt:biggrin:. Hondas rock(at least in the dirt. Their couches are way underpowered I admit) Yams (and to a lesser degree kaws)are like our archrival, but since Honda doesnt make a standup, and they seem to be favoring "reliability" over any kind of performance, I will suck it up.
I can spend more, was trying to keep payments low with gas $ etc etc... So Kaws being rec., what about 750 pro's? I recall reading they are close to the 800, something like 5 horses down. Anyone on here race locally?(FT laud/Miami?)

750 to 800 is like comparing a CRF450 to a CR125r

night and day.

if all you wanted to do was play around then the 750 would be fine, but if you plan to race, well, you are not going to show up at the track with a XR250 and try to race against the CRF250's are you?

Thanks godocgol. My goal is the end of the month. I have never rode a stand up so bring your camera, should be a couple of youtube worth moments. I usually have a steep learning curve tho
