Leak down test - quick question!

Is it better to have the reeds in or out when doing a pressure test? <--- i've read mixed options on this!

I would test the motor as close to run-configuration as possible.

If you leave the reeds out, you may miss something in your leak down test that will prove troublesome later.

Like whether or not your getting a leak past your reed block.

can you test with the carbs. on and block off the top of the carb instead of the manifold?

(dont know if possible)

No. The fuel passages might leak air.
I think the standard procedure is to have a block-off plate on the intake manifold (and exhaust)

I have cut out plates from thin sheetmetal and bolted it between carbs and manifold and between headpipe and manifold.
