CNC Machining

Hi, I own a CNC machining company in central North Carolina. We specialize in high-speed machining of mostly aluminum and titanium products for various racing industries and industrial applications. Kart racing to NASCAR and things in between. We manufacture nothing for the PWC market, currently.
I am looking for someone to collaborate with on a few PWC items. I'm not looking to "get into" the PWC aftermarket products as a business move for our company. Making items for already established speed shops is more along the lines of what I had in mind. This is something I enjoy and would like to work with others that are in the business to develop and make a few goodies for smaller niche portions of our sport. For the most part, items pertaining to the SuperJet, SXR, GP1300R, 66e to SJ conversions.....things to that nature.

what are you looking to do?

I'm working on some prototypes (real life cut on a mill) and have some cad files I need to update for problems we found while making the first one.

I'm looking for some cheaper smallish quantity cnc (water or laser cut aluminum and stainless plate) work done for me. I'm NOT looking to give away my ideas for them to make money on my hard work.

Since I'm paranoid I'd probably need a non compete clause on parts I'm making.

you should be able to translate any dwg file to a step or iges and solid works will open those and re translate to a prt solid works file no problem. if you need help with this pm me i could email some commands

I am not interested in stealing anything, this is something I want to do because I enjoy new challenges......especially when they are related to my hobbies. We do not need the extra work, we stay booked solid. Seeing as I own the place I can schedule things as I like. Let me know what you need.

BTW........we use NDA's all the time,.......draw it up and we'll sign.

You should hit Botzila up he has got CNC skills, I'm sure he has a ton of files that he's been working on. It's my understanding that he is now living in the Nashville area. He made a kick arse pole bracket for Tricky.
Also try Paul at LPW he has some amazing ideas for parts.
Nothing would give me more satisfaction than to post a pic of the last piece he manufactured for my ski, however I have been asked not to show it off yet.:bananapowerslide:

Ti fasteners are more readily available than you may think. I can get you some phone numbers of companies that sell Ti fasteners if you like.

Wait till you see how much all those titanium bolts are going to cost you; you'll think the Lamey cylinders are a cheap.

Also titanium will rust in salt water just not as fast as the steel hardware but it is considerably lighter.

I'd like to see some custom crank webs, so the price of stroker cranks would be more affordable for everyone.

Ti fasteners are not as expensive as you may think. It just depends on quantity. A shop could buy box quantity for the sizes used in different applications, resell them at a 100% mark-up (to justify their investment) and still be reasonable. Give me some common sizes and I will get some prices.

Billet stroker cranks could be fun, but are connecting rod kits of proper configurations readily available? I would love to do something like this for a 66e or a 1300r..........holla back.
