dremel a slot, and use a bigger hammer?

It depends on the screw - the outside ones its normally best to use visegrips. The inside 2 i have found its easiest to drill the heads then visegrip them. A little heat helps too

Oh you mean, drill them off, remove the cover block, and then there will be some exposed thread right?
