I have a '96 750 sxi and the pump intake gide apears to be flopping around loose in the pump cavity. it doesnt appear broken. is this thing supposed to do this? If not, what is the approved method of fixing this thing?

pretty sure that stupid thing is your pump shoe and is a problem on the superjets cause they are plastic and crack...

i would think some sanding and some sort of glue(5200...epoxy resin maybe) would stick it back in there as long as its not broken

I have had to chisel a few of those dam thing out of kawasaki skis. after they got broken, or whatever.

its about $40 part from ronayers.com if it happens to be messed up

I cant imagine it came loose on its own?

for sure seal it back in with 4200 or 5200, or whatever.

who knows.. I noticed it today for the first time when I was cleaning it up with the pressure washer. I havent had this thing in the water yet since I just got it a month or so ago.

it's not loose ( like just flopping around) it just moves when force is exherted against it, it'll tip downward, like a scoop. it doesnt appear broken anywhere I can see.

I don't know about the kawi but my superjet is put in with 5200. lots of people use it. Why would you need it out. I think matt or some one actually glassed the thing in.

It's overkill. On my SJ, it was a huge pain in the ass getting my metal one out and it was in with regular silicone.

Reasons to pull it out? Painting, breaking, ect...
