When you get your Bpipe, the directions should give you a REALLY close idea of what you should be running.


Huge emphasise on REALLY, reading the Mikuni book will help you learn and understand carb tuning, setup and troubleshooting but to make things simple go by FPP's instructions and you will be very close or spot on. I did the same last spring, and never had to touch the carbs all year.

Errr....once tuned, you really should not ever have to touch them. (Unless you change oil ratios, gas type, or huge elevation changes)

What I meant was I had them on the bench, swapped jets, set screws to FPP recommended specs and put them back. Never even adjusted them on the water.

That can be very misleading. I have found dual 38's to be VERY forgiving in jetting. So much so that an engine of mine ran great with the main jets being 10 points too large, without me noticing much.
Once I tuned it right, it ran A LOT better.
So, just because it seems to run okay does NOT mean it is tuned right. That's a very nice, but also a somewhat tricky feature of the dual 38's.

you might have to turn out the screws a little bit to richen it up for the head, but you wont have to rejet for the head.

If your looking for a prop I would definetly go with the skat trak 12/17 swirl. you might have to rejet with the prop it might put more load on the motor or at least change where it puts a load on the motor.

your setup with the prop will be a good, quick, reliable setup. I wouldnt change a thing.
