obviously i do ride on a small lake? i live in northeast PA man, nowhere near the ocean or a big lake. dont open your big mouth if you dont even know where i ride.....

big deal the box is loud, get over it, if someone wants a loud ski thats their choice, it may not be best for the sport but a person is entitled to setting up their boat how they want.

and noise doenst bother EVERYbody, believe it or not some people on my like the sound...

i need some warm weather, this winter ******** is making me pissy.

No one has ever liked the sound of my front exhaust + xmw waterbox, at various locations.

And quit blaming the weather, you are always pissy.

obviously you dont like the sound of a braaapin' two stroke, and you obviously dont appreciate saving a few pounds, therefore you dont see the goodness of the waterbox. i dont think anyone claimed it to be great, but it saves weight and helps your ski not sound so sissy. (if thats even possible for a yami)

and obviously you do not ride in a lake where other people try to enjoy themselves or you don't give a rats ass and have no respect for others.

That box is loud, it may not sound like it when you are on it yourself, but it is really loud. whether it is lighter, gives more power or makes you think your dick is 10" long, it does not change the fact they are loud and annoys anybody on the lake trying to enjoy a peaceful day at the lake.

***Disclaimer ***** This is the only product of XMetal that I do not care for.

If I could afford a strickly competition boat that only got used at competitions I probably would have one in it.

Obviously you were oblivious to the fact that I was mimicking your attitude. It is really obvious that you dont respect anybody. It is really obvious of your maturity level with comments like " Dont open your big mouth", well it is quite obvious that I never said a single word since the last time I checked this was not an interactive website where you can actually hear the words that would be coming out of my mouth........ Obviously it is dead of winter and we would all like it to start warming the heck up.........

Just ride
If your that concerned about it check what your local laws are. In NJ the law is the vessel has to be at most 90 decibels in nuetral gear or least possible headway(idling). I'm not real familiar with what sound level is equivalent to what decibel level, but I don't think its 90decibels at an idle. If it falls under this limit, is there really anything anybody on the NJ waters can do?

Now, I ride from my dock at the shore and I'm not going to run the ski in the back bays anymore near houses and stuff this summer just because I want to be courteous. But the fact of the matter is if it is legal what can anyone really do? I got 6 tickets this passed summer, and not one of them was because of noise; they were for dumb stuff like no lanyard, not carrying my license and reg with me. I'm sure someone called the police at some point and thats why they showed up at one point or another, but the cop always said that he really didn't care about the noise. The cops will stop you for no reason in NJ, even if they are required to have a reason they will stop you anyway.

I love the having a front exhaust and waterbox on my ski the nose stays light and I like not having the cavitation, it is loud which I like, but you have to have common courtesy if your gonna have one. I ride ocean with it so it's not a big deal, but if I do ride bays I'll block the front off.

one of the places we ride is on the river, where there are barely any houses. Everytime the Waterpatrol came up, 50% of the time he would check to see how loud the ski's were.

I have gotten into trouble because of it, too. Thanks. :fingerx:

I sold my front exhaust kit and restored the hull to pre-front exhaust condition.
I like the Waterbox, but it was a wee bit too loud.

Sorry...

The good thing is you didn't pay full price like I did for it. I was told by XMW that it was a tad bit louder than stock. Which was as you know a lie.

what aggrevates ME is the big boats with captains call or open exhaust out running around, that are WAY louder than any ski.

and then, its always the loud SKI that gets picked on.

the 'jetski' stigma sucks sometimes.

I personally want my boats to be pretty quiet, sons boat has an AM water box, and its LOUD.

But, it helps me know where is too, I can hear where he is without looking, and tell if he has fallen or whatever.

we rarely have that problem on our lake...........

I hated my first ski, a full built X2 with a westcoast waterbox, that thing annoyed me....... I was so glad when rear exhaust came out.

werd.... that is funny....

I am really going to do tests...
Because mine is throater.. but not as loud as a B-pipe in a stocker strait out the back. its high pitched and narly..

Mine is out the front and rear SIDES... so on plane, the water is still rushing past exhaust outlet and making a deeper grumble...

I will test so there is no more :hitwithrock:

I believe he stated that the box was much louder than stock, to say that it is barely louder than stock is a stretch. I have yet to hear one that was "Barely louder than stock".... So, in the terminology and the usage of "Which you know is a lie" is not the same as saying "You lied to me". The phrase "we all know that this box is much louder than stock" conveys the same message as "we all know is a lie". It us just different words...........

hmmm obviously there is a large amount of sarcasm flying around here, and obviously the "big mouth" statement was not meant to be taken literal, it merely stated that you have a comment for everyone about everything all the time...

i have stated that i know loud skis are bad for the sport, as are loud bikes bad for MX tracks, but for some reason young kids, like myself, like their toys loud (for the most part, and to a certain extent).

BK (i dont know if you rode ski when you were much younger) but please enlighten my foolish mind as to whether or not you had a loud ski at one point in time?

and clearly i respect no one (especially superjet riders :booty:)

Matt_E i know its a brutal life for a kawi riders on this site...the 15 degree weather and 8 inches of snow really DO make it worse though.....

Oh hell, I am from the south, I am a damn no-it-all!!!!!!!

My first ski was 17 years ago. Fully ported X2, dual 38's, westcoast pipe and waterbox, dual cooling, high compression and it made an Xmetal waterbox sould like a misquito..... Your ears would ring after riding it........ very high pitched. 0-44 in no time flat, actually it became no fun to ride after the 2nd time we worked on the porting. It was like a light switch. no in between power, it was WOT or nothing. half throttle and it seemed like you were wide open.

For a minute I thought I was reading one of Pete's comments when I read "Shut your big mouth", something clicks when I think that, like an old Vet who jumps when there is a sudden nose or a noise that nobody else can hear!!!!!!!!!

It all good.

I wont hold it against you that you still ride a Kawi. :stooges::smashfreakB::439:

I've been riding around 16 years now, I've never had a loud ski. Even when I had my 550 with right front side exhaust and a Jetcraft Turbomuff which you can run dry for racing purposes, I kept a lot of water in it and it was super mellow/quiet but still a ton of power/response due to it's design (which was better than the xmetal design).

I was on the pier filming when you or someone on a SXR came in from the flatwater clinic, you should have seen/heard the people talking about that ski and how loud it was, and it was not favorable. It was embarassing for me to be there filming it. Have you seen the clip?
