Starting to build me SX-R AGAIN

rear exhaust is all out....its alot easier then you would think
old fotholds are also cut out (i got a set of REVS for x-mas)
motor is bored and almost finished being ported/cleaned
wet pipe has been traded for a dry....

its coming together nice, but i am not shortening/lightening anything till after the daytona ride because i just dont have enough time.

cases are together and all my gaskets will be here tomorrow so it should run tomorrow. i
wont be able to put the motor in it till florida because i have to pick up a driveshaft along the way....my footholds wont be here till monday so i will glass them in monday night then leave for daytona. i have VERY little turf so i will only have the holds turfed for daytona.....she is gonna look like a train wreck because none of the body work or glass work has been done yet haha, but hey she'll be running

Dude i can bring you some turf scraps if you want to do a front patch for you front foot...cant ride in the footwells all the time especially in the surf..let me know

ski ran pretty well at daytona,
alot better than i did (still having some pain near my hip from the broken femur)
but it definetly pulls alot harder than last year, gotta fix my leaky dry pipe though and i was unable to really do much tuning to get it dialed. once i get the jetting perfect and the exhaust leak fixed it should really rip.
the front exahaust is sweet i dont know why you guys complain,
it was loud but i dont think to loud (if anyone remembers it from the beach let me know if you thought it was obnoxious)

but now it comes back apart to be shortened and lightened even more. i am gonna get a base weight this weekend of what it weighs. then i will see what it weighs at the end of the build. i will put up pics from now on, i didnt even have time before daytona because i wrenched on it for a long time. oh and i love the REV footholds, awesome feel...

did you ever get that weight?

last week during spring break i shortened her up 3 inches, defoamed, and got ready to button it all back up. i ran out of time with all the other things, but in a few weeks it will be good to go again, i have pictures but my camera is at my house. i bought a carbon plate which i simply re drilled and made shims for so it will sit flat (i had to move the ride plate mounts). in a few weeks i will get pics and a full on update, but until then i am stuck at school thinking of what else i can do....soon comes refoam and installation of the dual scuppers.....

you'll like the hull shortened for flatwater I promise!

I have to admit I am a little disappointed about how I feel about it after riding a few days in florida in the surf, it was tuff to keep the nose down to get speed to hit the waves right.

But like I siad, on flatwater/boat wakes it will be amazing!

here is a pic of the shortened hull, i went with -3 inches just for fun. i remounted the rideplate mounts and redrilled a carbon plate that i picked up. when i get home from school in a few weeks i will be glassing it all back up, and i will take a few more pics, the batery died on my camera and i ran out of time....

well i got lazy and ran out of money so i only went with one scupper. but it is all foamed and everything will be glassed up this weekend. i am taking my last final in a few hours so i will be free from school finally.

it should be on the water the middle of next week so ill let you know how it goes. i still have to install everything back into the hull, finish turf and a bunch of other crap, its now warm out and here i am wrenching on this thing...man i just wanna ride. but i am gonna take my time on finishing all the details....i dont want to be tearing it down again mid summer

Looking good man. Taking mine out tomorrow for the first flatwater ride, going to compare to a buddies SXR which has about the same mods without the setback motor and shortened hull.
