650/701 stator specs.

I tried searching for this, but came up empty handed. If anyone could let me know what a 650/701 stator should ohm out at, that would be great, thanks!

There's 2 spec's for them, up to '95(6m6/61x) and 96 and up (62T)... I'll have to get them from shop later if I can remember to write them down and bring them home. If in direr need call shop during the day and I'll get them to you.

weren't the stators for the 701 (61x) and the 6m6 stators the same? Just the cdi was different? If so, here's a little info adam

I tested it out at: 400 ohms on the charge coil (brown/white to ground wire)
17 ohms on the pulse coil (white/red to ground)

Can anyone chime in on whethere these are suitable numbers?

ps, Lighting Coil looks to be at ~2 ohms

Nice, if you want to test your spare mouthfull, that would be clutch.

I havent had to go thru this with a yama ( knock on fiberglass)

but on the old kawasaki I had to figure out, I could see the different voltages from the coils during cranking.

pulser coil was like several volts.

lighting coil was 40-60 volts AC

cdi charge coil was similar to the lighting coil.

all the numbers were usually bigger the faster the flywheel was turning.

I am only able to test resistance, this stator is from a waverunner 650 that I parted out. The plate and coils are pretty clean, but the ski was sitting with the flywheel cover off and some sludge in it... I have another stator stuck under a rusted flywheel and crank that is sitting on the concrete right now (seems to have good resistance too).

I got 394 brown/white to ground

and 17.xx on the red/white to ground.

Id say youve got a working stator there, as long as it doesnt break down under heat.

Those numbers look good, if the coils read too low then they probably have a partial short and will not produce the proper output. I have seen stators that show resistance values barely out of spec that would not work due to internal shorts. You should be fine..
