Best Engine combo need advice 701/760

Hi ,

Christmas came very early this year and opportunity is knocking for great winter engine rebuilts....

This is what I have;
A) Complete 760 Stock Engine + electrical 64x ?
B) Short Block 701 61x/61x

I am looking to make 2 engines for flatwater freestyle with the best combination of parts and also have TEAM SCREAM do some work.Both engines will be put in SN's

My questions
- What is the best combination possible Case/Cylinder ?
>> I have heard 62T/61X for the 701 ?
- Leave the 760 and just have portwork done ?
- Single carb sizes ?
...Anything else ?

Thank you , comments greatly appreciated.

Chris

My advice would be to call Chuck and see what he recommends- i have asked him some questions in the past and he has been very helpful.

My guess would be using the 701 cyl on the t case because the port timing is lower on the 701 as i understand which would prob be better for flat

Just stick to the basics, and stay out of trouble...61x cylinder w/62T case, find a stock 38 intake system from somebody that has a take off set. Save $$ for all your bolt ons first then we can go into the motor for further mods... that's where you need to start. I wouldn't mess around with a single big carb conversion unless you buy Chris's ATP intake manifold, (the only one that works well enough) so stay with the stock 38's until you go up to aftermarket 44/46's duals.

now that the superjets are on the endangered species list in the racing world there are a ton of great deals on 85.5 flat top stock stroke motors that run very well.
