B-pipe exhaust manifold gasket

Apparently my exhaust manifold gasket on the SJ was tore and it blew out today while riding..Where can I get a replacement? Im guessing it would just be an oem part I would need to order? Also does it hurt them to ride without the gasket? I shut it off as soon as I heard the exhaust get louder, and swam it to shore to check things out. I loaded it up after that and brought it to the shop.

I can get pics of the exact gasket I am talking about if needed. I just wasn't sure if this would be a special gasket I needed to order from Yamaha or Factory pipe.

Buy the gasket and do it right!!!!!

Umm...im pretty sure thats what the whole point of me posting my question...I was asking where to buy the gasket, not if I could make one or run without it...my question about running without it was just to make sure I didn't do any damage to anything during the few minutes I didn't know it was blown out.

Factory pipe sells them for $6.00 a piece. Alternatively, you can buy a Kawasaki 650 exhaust manifold-to-headpipe gasket as that is what it is. Factory Pipe used the 650 exhaust as the basis for the design of the B-pipe.

Ah, I just re-read your post. If you are looking for the cylinder-to-manifold gasket, that is a Yamaha part. Make sure that you go with OEM Yamaha parts on that one. Don't skimp as the quality of a lot of aftermarket gaskets is inferior. Make sure you know if you have a 62T or 61X cylinder though as they use different gaskets. If it is a 97+ SJ it is likely a 61X cylinder. I bought an OEM 62T cylinder-to-manifold gasket last year in a pinch from teh dealer and it was $20.00.
