First off, i would like to say "WOW" I didnt realize Texas has such a large ski crowd!!!

My name is well "steve0we" and I live in San Antonio. Husband / father and kid till I die! I just put money down on my first ski today, and am counting the days until it finally arrives. I am an avid waterman, surfing, kayaking, wind surfing, etc. I decided to get into the jetski thing because its just to hot to ride my dirtbike in the summer, and I enjoy the water so much.

I would like to stop by while you guys are at the beach to check out different ski setups, and get some of the dumb questions out of the way. I have a race in Dallas Saturday, but for the right motivation might park the racecar for the day and sneak off to the beach.

Is anyone else from San Antonio going?
Would you guys mind a tag along?
Did I mention I run a graphics shop and can print full color?
Did I mention that I also have a full fabrication shop and do everything from welding, CNC machining, and extensive fiberglass work???

Glad to see that the rest of the state is motivated by more than tortillas (San Antonio is the 3rd fattest city in the country)

Thanks for the time,
Steve0we and Family

Welcome again. Come on down. I'd bet that a few people might even let you try out their skis, bring your gear. Usually we have a grill out or just do sandwiches for lunch, so bring something to eat. Bring a chair or use one of ours. We usually have shade canopies out, too. If you get even close to us, you can't possibly miss us - the huge collection of Easy-ups and standups with a few sitdowns. Oh, and quite a few toyhaulers, motorhomes, trailers, etc.

Warning, there are sometimes jellyfish, you should think about bringing long sleeve shirt and long pants. Most people use either a rash guard or an MX shirt with pants or a full length wetsuit with sleeves. You never know for sure how many there will be, sometimes you need the shirt/pants, sometimes not. And don't forget your favorite sunscreen.

See you there,
Sharon

Just plain me....
Come on down & have some fun. These crazy guys are a lot of fun to be around. Just don't believe a word any of them say; they like to "exaggerate".

In all seriousness, gatherings like this are the best way to meet folks who have a wealth of knowledge.

So is everyone camping on the beach? I always leave my wife a daughter home for the first trip. I dont mind tent camping if needed. Second trip when I have my ski, and I feel like pulling our trailer, they will tag along for sure.
Can we have fires on the beach? If so, when we go to the desert, alot of times we have put a couple of VW heads in the fire, they light the place up enough to ride for about an hour. the old ones are magnesium, and put out a huge amount of light.

I sent a PM to Tursiops93 to see what his plans are. I look forward to meeting everyone and look forward to the BBQ.

Toy hauler parked on the beach for us, some will be tent camping. We sometimes get enough wind that the tent is not a restful sleep. The upper part of the beach is usually firm enough to park on with no problems. Yes, to fires on the beach, bring firewood. I'm not so sure about the magnesium, maybe Penguin can chime in and give us an opinion on whether this might attract a little too much attention.

What do you think, Shawn?

If it gets out of control & Pengy is drunk enough, he has no problem whipping out a "fire hose":poke:

Even a Pengy firehose isn't going to do squat on a magnesium fueled fire! All the "firehoses" on the beach wouldn't do a thing.

SteveOwe, I'm bring my wife and daughter (she's pretty young - my daughter that is - 1.5 year old).

It's a very nice group of people that are fun to hang with. Too bad you missed our last trip to Austin.

And if you make it down on Friday, you can even help me install my exhaust system. (I know I should have already installed it, but things have been crazy)

the VW cases burn fantastic, they just glow, no fire works or anything. What type of helmets are you guys using? I just cant see taking my 400.00 moto helmet to the water? Anyone have a link or good place to buy?

If you have a pit bike bring it
Dont listen to these people they just want you to come to carry gas cans and wash skis.

the first ride I went to I had to carry every-ones gas and wash all the skis before they let me ski.

All the Texas crew are misfits with a bad attitudes

The food always sux

They make you Jump fire on your pit bike

eat gummy worms

If your ski breaks everyone points and laughs at you

I could go on forever

See all you loosers in a week
