Those pics look like 2-3 footers..?:bigeyes2:

Those pics were taking very close to shore, farther out like I said they were larger. Here is another pic, the waves are breaking over Aaron's head and he is roughly 6ft tall so most of the time they where ruffly 8 to 10 and farther out the swells were even larger. Sorry for the miscommunication but this wasn't your average 2-3 foot day.

whats the water temp like? Low seventies?

Is surf riding something that you can just go out and tackle? I live right in Milwaukee and have had my ski for a summer and a half now.

I am confident on it, and am starting to experiment with some stuff that is more difficult, but I am not sure about taking on 6 footers on the big pond...but I would love to try.

What happens if you dump??

I have not seen this side of Michigan like that before. Though I also have not seen what small craft advisory waves look like. That was what was expected this past weekend with 3 to 6 ft waves settling down to 2 to 4 ft waves.

Their is a small craft advisory tomorrow, Im thinking of finally heading out their and checking it out in person for once.

The great lakes are killer when you get a Small Craft Advisory. Thats when I like to take my small craft out :puppy_dog_eyes:. Gale Warnings are even better! Make sure the wind direction is going the right way or the waves will only be big a mile out.

If your on the West Shore, you want an East Wind and vice versa.

Nice pics!

Looks like tomorrow may be promising as well, building to 3-6 during the day and then 6-10 in the evening (in my area). I'm hoping to get out there with a few guys, one of which has a helmet cam so hopefully we'll finally get some good footage with the thing. Given we go, we'll be around the pigeon lake channel starting around 630 or so if anyone's interested.

On a side note, here is a killer forecast / current conditions website for you great lake guys:
