What`s the best way to remove and replace a ring gear from an alloy flywheel.

Heat the ring or freeze the hub ?

Does the OEM ring work on them? If not where do you get the replacement ring?

Cut off the old one and freeze flywheel and heat ring

Msd had different suppliers and they were different size ring gears

i did a ring gear on a msd total loss all i did was heat the ring gear and tapped it with a punch and it came off real easy same with installing a new one just heated the ring and it slid right on

Yes you can just heat the ring gear and drop it on the flywheel.We used to replace them on Seadoos on a regular basis before they changed the engagement on the starters.
