To fix or not to fix??

I was hit by a coucher last night. He said he was going about 40 mph at the impact. My leg got caught between my X2 and his couch and shredded my calf muscles to peices. No lasseration and the doctors could not beleive I did not break any bones. I am on crutches for 2 weeks at leats and will need to see a physiotherapist. Good thing I was wearing my helmet.

X2 went plunging towards the bottom and I managed to tie it to a buddies Seapoo before I lost sight of it.
We pulled it to shore and into the truck later on. I got it started when I got back from the hospital and it seems ok.

None of us had insurance so I will have to shed the money to fix this.

Let me know if I should repair myself since I have done fiberglass before or just start looking for a new hull.

Thanks
Joe

Moral of the story is stay far away from couches!

I'm guessing the coucher was a friend, otherwise you would be taking him to court for the damages, right?
Hope your leg has a speedy recovery.

Yeah, I am the couchers best man for his wedding next spring.....so no law suit will be involved. Good thing we have no charges for medical bills in Canada. I needed 9 X-rays since the doctors were dead set that I had a bone fracture but could never find one. He also offered to pay for all material costs to fix the hull, but before I start I wanted to know if it is even worth fixing. So far I think I will fix it unless I get my hands on a cheap hull.

it's repairable but it would probably be easier to swap hulls and cost about the same since it's an x2. you'd have to pull everything out to repair it anyway.

That sucks man. Last weekend i was out with my coucher friends and TWICE one of the couchers almost hit another couch (talking inches the 1st time and the second the guy got out of the way). He kept saying he had it under control. Bull shiet. I stay away from you, you stay away from me.

REPLACE. A crack right through the bond line is a bad deal, especially right smack in the middle of the boat.

Glad to hear you came out in good shape though. This could have been MUCH worse.

If it was me...I would replace the hull. For the costs of materials and time you'd be better off. I may know of some X2 hulls locally. I'll find out for you and get back to yeah. Glad your leg isn't broken, definately could have been worse.

Looks like its time for a winter project...at least it wasn't at the beginning of the season.

I would say to replace the hull. Every now and then you see them on ebay. It should not be to hard to find one not running and a get a good deal on it. Then you can take your time and make your dream X2 this winter. Paint it up real nice.

I hope you enjoy your time off from the water. I sure will enjoy the few remaining weeks of summer for you.

I hope Ill be able to ride a bit more before the end of the season. Looks like the 650sx will finally get some riding time.

That is one nice thing about our med system. Everybody pays into it thru their taxes and then everybody gets treatment.

Didn't know you got hurt. I hope you heal up fast.

There are a few on eBay but that usually means picking them up in person. Sorry I got rid of all my Spare X2 hulls.
