I've been looking at aftermarket impellers and have not figured out the spec #'s for different props. Can someone give me the quick and dirty on impellers and what direction I need to go for better bottom end and hookup? I have a stock intake, but will change that as well.

My stock response to these threads:

The first number is the leading edge pitch. This indicates the amount of water being scooped into the pump. A lower number means a bigger scoop, which means more water goes into the pump. The second number is the trailing edge. This is the edge that accelerates the water, a higher number means more top end. (if your motor can pull it)

The "spread" is the difference between the 2 numbers. The bigger the difference between the numbers, the greater the amount of water that gets processed thru the pump. The bigger the spread (or window) however, the more torque you need to be making to pull the prop through this greater volume of water.

Smooches.

And realize that those numbers are meaningful for comparison only on identical impeller models. They change between makes an model.
Example: It's pointless to compare an oldschool Skat 9/17 with a Skat Swirl 14/19.
There is more to impeller performance than angles. Blade surface area, shape, and hub diameter and shape have just as much to do with it.

I let my buddy sign in as me to check a PM and he posted this without logging me out. I'll straighten him out and tell him what he needs. Feel free to post additional comments but I wanted everyone to know this is not my question.

Hell it's half his anyway since we split two sn sj's and the parts in a package deal. He never asked for it or anything about it.....just wanted me to sell the parts. I'll make fun of him later for it.
