matt, the 800 kawi's from what i have read do run better and stronger in the ocean "stock" then the yamaha's with all the mod's.
ask the checkmate racing man. he has one.

i still have not ridden a sxi pro 750 or a sxr 800, but dread the day that happens.
i'll be hooked on the big boat.

Someone lied to you then. They are very stable and fast, but not very quick and nimble compared to my limited. Brandt and I switched at Longbeach in July, and he couldn't believe how much power my SJ with a drypipe and 44's with reeds makes, he could not stay on it. When I rode his stock SXR, it seemed like it takes for ever for the low end power to come on hard, but when it does you are going fast. Hard to ride with the stock ride plate not D cut, the nose is always just trying to carve and nose into the waves. A wetpipe and timing advance will probably cure that, as well as a nozzle bore and pump cone. You would like them.

Nah, I don't think so Mike. I've ridden Mike Brandt's stock SXR in the surf, and quite a few Superjets with varying levels of mods. Both power and handling wise, I'd take the Superjets any day over the SXR.

your ski giving you problems???
Got the carbs almost perfect now, running 6870-6950 rpm at WOT, I think just over 50mph. My head nuts tend to loose torque after 2-3 days of hard riding:17:, so I put it back on the trailer and took out Gregs Blaster for the rest of the day.:bananalama:
