Slip the boot over the wire then cut back the insulation on the wire crimp the metal on slide boot back forward over the metal and you are done

^^ I don't do it that way. (Though I am sure it works that way, too)

I cut back approx. 1/4 inch of insulation to expose bare wire. Slide the wire into the terminal, crimp the exposed wire into one of the small sections (optionally solder it) and then crimp the big portion onto the insulation.

After that, insert terminal & wire into the boot.

thanks got it before the responses just didnt want to do it wrong and waste the metal connectors, found out something great too, I can pull a few inches out on the wire so new coil for me soon, it should work fine how it is tho, I pushed them all the way back and the ski fired up and ran on both cyl's.

X3, except I split the strands into two bundles and use both of the small crimps. I don't know if that changes anything, but I just like the symmetry.

I do the same split because I use the 20 strand wire like the JSS stuff.

Also make sure you use the proper crimping die MSD sells them.:fing02:

loosen the laces, pull the tounge loose, and if necessary, use a shoe horn. If the fit is too tight, try a thinner sock.

Spray some silicone inside the boot and push them on.

That plastic die tool doesn't work too well but the MSD crimpers work great for installing the terminals.

No need for a new coil, just have the wires replaced if it is an OEM coil. Those bad wires will just arc and fail soon anyway so go ahead and get the wires freshend up. JSS and several board members can get it done for you. This is a lot cheaper than a new coil.

The die I got is aluminum.

Sidenote: Where do you get silicone spray?

The die I have from MSD is the AL unit also. You should be able to get silicone spray in the camping section of Wal-Mart or the like. It is usually sold as "Camp Dry" or something like that.
