OPTION 1

1-IMPELLER

£250

Standard Super Jet impellor is a rather primitive aluminium one that both cavitates and vibrates. Replacing it will give a lot more acceleration, a bit more top speed and reduce the vibration. Our freestyle impellers are re-pitched and cut back specially for us and are better by far for freestyle than any current off the shelf model.

2-SCOOP GRATE

£99.95

You need to be able to feed the extra water demands made by the new impeller so ditch the stock grate and fit a Worx deep top loader style scoop grate.

3-CHANGE WATER T-PIECE

(PHOTO TO FOLLOW)

FREE

The water hose that goes from the rear of the cylinder head to the bottom of the head pipe there is a T-piece in it, the centre leg of the T-piece goes to a water bypass out of the side of the hull. Change the direction of this T-piece so that the centre leg goes to the head pipe so the main flow of water goes to the bypass. This is free and well worth doing if you're going to stick with the stock exhaust for now. Simple explanation as to why-Doing this dries out the exhaust making it run a bit better.

4-FOOTHOLDS/ MATS

£58.75

£79.95

Pretty self explanatory footholds enable you to pick up the back of the ski with your feet for subs, 180's and eventually Barrel Rolls. This is quite a cheap mod to diy but also quite a risky one and is difficult to get looking really nice. If you are considering doing it yourself make sure you have the ability and Know-how first. The footholds will need to fibre glassed into place properly and re-foamed so that you do not loss the structural integrity of your hull. This is quite time consuming so a big saving will be made by doing it yourself.

5-FOAM & GLUE

£14

For above

6-POLE EXTENSION LIMITER ROPE KIT

£35

You probably don't want the expense of changing your handlepole right now so make the one you've got last as long as you can by fitting a Pole Limiter rope, they're cheap enough at £35.

7-BARS AND GRIPS

£47.00 & £15.95

Bars- Slightly different angle to stock bars for a more comfortable ride and slightly wider than stock for more leverage. You will have to change the grips as the stock one won't come off in one piece, use our ODI clamp on grips to avoid the risk of glued on grips coming off in your hand (serious accidents can occur if you were to loose your grip).

8-BILGE PUMP

£119.95

As you are learning and as your riding starts to improve the ski will take on so much excess water that the OEM system cannot cope. The price quoted here is for the all singing all dancing kit, with a bar mounted switch and brackets to hold the pump in place. This cost can be dramatically reduced by buying a pump and gluing it into place with a simple dash mounted switch, an outlet and a piece of washing machine down pipe. Not as nice but it does the job.(EDITORS NOTE:-OR A FLOAT SWITCH,THEY DO WORK!)

OPTION ONE TOTAL

£720.55

Notes & Tips- This is what we consider the very minimum to start you on the road to freestyle. You will need to spend more but we suggest you ride with this set up for a while learn a few basic tricks get a feel for the ski and your own personal preferences. This will avoid blowing a lot of money that you really have no use for. You will notice we have not suggested a change of pole spring as most freestylers tighten the pole bolts so that the pole is stiff anyway and we have not suggested a longer rideplate as the general trend is back towards short and even stock ones. You can also put duck tape over one or maybe two of the 3 holes in the front of the hood to reduce water ingression. DO NOT block them all remember your engine has to breathe.

Also remember that non of these prices include labour.

OPTION 2

9-FACTORY PIPE "B" PIPE

£530

This will give you the biggest bang for your bucks that you are likely to get. There are other pipes available but properly fitted “B” pipes is both reliable and give you the power exactly where you need it for freestyle.

There are jets supplied with the kit but these are not the right ones for our climate, hence they are listed separately.

Beware I have seen holes worn clean through the sides of hulls because of bad fitting they are not the easiest things in the world to get lined up correctly so if you are not confident in D.I.Y have it done by a professional, do not be tempted to leave the carbs as they are.
10-JETS FOR ABOVE

£6
11-SPRINGS FOR ABOVE

£6
12-CARBON TECH REEDS
£69.95 They are available in different tensions for freestyle, for freestyle we need the low tension. These last longer than any other aftermarket reed,if you have an unlimited budget V-Force Delta may be an option but at more than 3 times the price of Carbon Tech,I really wouldn’t bother. Carbon Tech reeds will give you a nice boost in the low to mid range power band.
13-PUMP CONE & BORED NOZZLE
£82.00 We now have a situation where you engine is developing more power than the exit nozzle is designed for. Changing the pump cone for a smaller one and boring the compression nozzle will allow the pump to make better use of that extra power and give you a good increase in bottom end punch. We consider it mandatory to do both mods at the same time as each other.
14-INLET MANIFOLD SPACER KIT
£35 While you have the manifold off fitting reeds it’s a good idea to fit one of these as they are only £35 and do make a noticeable difference.
The reason for manifold spacers is to bring the reeds back so that they load the rear boost port more efficiently, the stock set up does a remarkably good job of masking this port.
15-CYLINDER HEAD FULL KIT

£360 Option1- Machine stock head- This involves maching the gasket surface and the squish area cost is approx £60 plus approx £28 for OEM head gasket.
I have a few problems with this option; it will give a good increase in power however it will do nothing to protect your cylinder. Raising the compression and
fitting a pipe on a Superjet can lead to the cylinder cracking. There are several theories as to why this happens but the bottom line is that it does. I do not wish to set the alarm bells ringing too much but it is something to consider. I cannot say that this will defiantly happen but on the other hand I cannot say that it won’t.
I have heard people say that it only happens on the old cylinders this simply isn’t true, about the only thing for sure is that it doesn’t happen when you use a girdled head.

Option 2- Use girdled head. This basically sandwiches the cylinder between the head and the cases thus preventing it from cracking. Other advantages of using an aftermarket head are a) you can run a tighter squish clearance, because you don’t need to run a gasket (which is thicker than the squish clearance you need anyway)
b) If your engine does decide to go bang you will only need to change the domes rather that the whole head c) you can change the compression ratio by changing the
domes without any machining d) o rings are cheaper than head gaskets.

Added bonus of looking drop dead gorgeous.
OPTION 2 TOTAL £1088.95 Note With this set up the engine will be pulling more revs and running a higher compression, make sure you use a good quality synthetic oil and Super Unleaded fuel, if you are running BR7 spark plugs it might be a good idea to switch to BR8s in the summer months

As always please remember these prices DON'T include labour.

OPTION 3
16-STEERING SYSTEM

£125.00

Gives you more and faster steering than OEM , you should now be at a standard where you need this for Barrel rolls, 180s power subs etc. With an ATP steering plate you have the option of different bars straight or dog leg, this has the same effect as shortening the turn plate by 1in and is far cheaper than buying different turn plates.
17- SIDE EXIT KIT

£150

Anything involving sinking the rear of the ski e.g. tail stands, monkey jumps, sprung monkeys etc can lead to cavitation. This is caused by exhaust gas bubbles entering the pump which creates a feeling similar to clutch slip on a car. With a side exhaust (should be called dual exit exhaust)when the back of the ski sinks the exhaust gases take the easiest route out, which is thru the side exit at the front, hence no cavitation.
18- THRU HULL BILGE £110.00 Is the most efficient way of getting rid of that excess water in your hull, you'll find that by now you tricks have outgrown the capabilities of both the OEM and electric bilge. ATP Thru Hull Bilge uses a 2in dia. tube and you will not believe how quickly it empties the water from your hull and does not leak, once you start moving forwards.
19-STEERING NOZZLE

£89.95

Give you even more and even faster steering, again making rotation of the ski much faster.
20- HULL REINFORCEMENT £276.25

You should already have you engine out to fit the Thru Bilge (if you had considered fitting the Bilge with your engine still in place, don't do it it's not worth it), which is why I have included Hull Reinforcement in this section.

This is a job best not left until your ski is already cracked as they say "you can't polish a turd",so as soon as you are failing Barrel Rolls and coming down hard on the side, get it sorted.

Although this job could be considered a DIY job, bear in mind you will be working with Epoxy Resins which need clean, dry and warm conditions to cure properly, composites like Carbon Kevlar can be difficult to cut let alone apply to your ski. If you mess this one up you could end up with a ski that is weaker and not stronger as intended.

As always, apart from the hull reinforcement, none of these prices include labour.

The Butler didn't do it.(See the final part to find out who did!!!!!!!)

OPTION 3 TOTAL
£1111.20

OPTION 4

21- COMPOSITE HOOD KIT

OR CARBON OPTION

Hood Kits include, Hood Nose Piece, Lowered Pole Bracket, Hood Hooks and hardware.

£ 695 or £1295

All ATP Hoods have a wider centre channel to avoid you breaking your fingers/thumbs when holding onto the handholds whilst sitting on the hood, I learnt about this the painful way!

100% Carbon Fibre Hood -Seriously desirable with a weight saving of around 10 pounds over OEM. As with all Freestyle Hoods these breathe from the rear as opposed to the front on an OEM one. Breathing from the rear greatly reduces water ingression. They are lower in profile as well as lighter this alters the centre of gravity making the ski feel a lot nicer and more controllable on the water.

The price of the kit includes Nose piece, Pole Bracket and hood hooks but as the Aerospace industry is buying up all of the carbon creating a worldwide shortage there is a constant threat of dramatic price increases. Please remember to check on current availability and price.

Composite Hood Kit- Same features as above and same Pole Bracket and Nose Piece but made using more realistically priced composites and resins, using a wet lay up method as opposed to the vacuum/oven cure pre-preg with the carbon hood.

Still a good weight saving over OEM with two models/shapes now available at the same price £695.00.

Probably the best value hood kit currently available.

22-HANDLE POLE

£425

If you haven't already broken your fibreglass Oem one, now is the time to strengthen up in this area by fitting an ATP pole. This is not the cheapest on the market but it has NO cast parts (on some aftermarket poles it is often the weld between the cast and the non cast sections that fail) and is reinforced on the inside and we think the strongest one out there. We consider it mandatory to use a pole extension limiter at all times, if you don't,you run a serious risk of ripping the front clean out of your ski, I know I've done it.
23-CHIN PAD
£150

The stock chin pad will fit our pole but because most aftermarket poles are narrower than OEM ones this can look rather odd. The ATP carbon composite chin pad is narrower so fits properly and looks great, it comes with a support and covered in Hydroturf. This is not a "one size fits all", we make another slightly wider chin pad to fit OEM poles.
24-HOOD STRAPS
£22

For goodness sake buy a pair of these and protect your investment.
25-HOOD CATCH
HOOD LATCH

£32
£50

Hood Latch- Looks cool Billet anodised aluminium, OEM cast ones have been known to break; again helps protect your investment.

Hood Catch- If you've got the latch it's a shame not to have this, again billet aluminium clear anodised.
OPTION 4 TOTAL (with composite Hood Kit) £1,734 And don't forget that this and the next option DON'T include labour.
OPTION 4 TOTAL (WITH Carbon Fibre Hood Kit) £1,974 You now have one sweet Freestyle Ski, go ride it!!!!!!

OPTION 5
More horse power !!!!!!!

Ok you can now pull barrel rolls at will, done your few first competitions and decided you still need more power. So here we go this is spending with the big boys. As with any engine a certain amount of increase is relatively simple and inexpensive. When you get to a certain stage more power becomes disproportionately expensive.
Engine porting & Total Loss ignition 1- Our most popular bore your existing 701 cylinder to 760cc and freestyle port the cylinder, ATP also offer case porting with this package. Be aware that you will need a full engine tear down, new pistons, head domes machined to allow for larger pistons and ATP case stuffers to maintain the primary compression after removing all the material from the cases. This is the set up that many of our riders go for.

Porting, pistons and case stuffers £760 approx, this does not include the cost of engine strip down/build up, gaskets and small ends etc.
2- The same as above but this time re-sleeving the cylinder giving the option of going up to aprrox 785cc. The disadvantages of this is that for those few more cc’s you have to add the cost of re-sleeving the cylinder and boring the cases to allow for the larger sleeves. No cost available at this time.
3- This is for people serious about flat water back flips and serious about spending a BIG pile of money.

A Dan Lamey freestyle ported cylinder will give you bottom end hit like you’ve never dreamt of, especially if used with a stroker crank, not going to even talk prices on this one it’s pretty much a case of “if you need to ask you probably can’t afford it”. Not only will it cost you a lot of money to build but a lot of money to maintain and also for this set up we run two ATP 44/48 carbs.

4- Deliberately left this one until last:- Total Loss ignition:

If you have ever ridden a ski with Total Loss ignition you would probably never go back, particularly if the unit has the advantage of being programmable. The ultra light flywheel coupled to the extra ignition advance that you can run at low speed gives you a hit that is impossible to achieve any other way. Total loss ignition has always received bad press mainly because all of the units up to now have proved unreliable in one way or another. This is why ATP decided to develop their own. There is no logical reason why total loss should be more unreliable than any other ignition. ATP ignition uses up to date Flash technology and is the only one in the World that is fully PC programmable and to date has not had any reliability issues.

My own preference would be: get the Total Loss before cylinder porting it will give you more hit and is a relatively simple “bolt on” job. Cost £850

Disadvantage of the Total Loss is you need to charge you battery after each days riding. You will easily get a least one full days riding out of the battery.

PLEASE NOTE AS ALWAYS PRICES DO NOT INCLUDE LABOUR.

We hope you’ve found this information helpful and is the result of over 16 years experience in freestyle. Please remember nothing is set in concrete there will always be different opinions and preferences.
