I was wondering why I had a stubborn oil leak at the headpipe... Well now I know! How exactly did this happen? The pipe never really overheated? I'm at a loss on this one.

they will cover it if it failed due to a defect, regardless of who owns it or bought it. The policy is pretty cut and dry. I have seen them cover stuff I didn't think they would. My guess is yours will be covered.

Hey Nikad, I'm curious, why do you think it cracked. I have one that has been clearanced for power valves. Been running it for two years with no trouble so far.

i had the exact same thing happen. i wasn't the original owner either i sent it in and in 1 week i had a brand new one on my doorstep:biggthumpup: as long as it hasn't been ported or abused they will replace it.

They will not warranty a ported pipe. When i talked to them before i sent it in they told me porting or boring the pipe voids the warranty, because it weakens the pipe and can cause it to crack.

I think it cracked because of a casting flaw..

The new ones are bored a little..

shhhh... I wouldn't say a word about it being bored.. could be a $15.00 gamble with big gains if it works.. nothing to loose by trying (other than $15.00) I'm sure they will be able to weld it also !

I'm sure you couldn't even tell after all the hours if it was bored or not. Send it back. Even if it was bored, removing one mm of material isn't going to cause that.

Might be worth sending it back. FFP is pretty good about warranty.
Could just file it down a little and JB weld outside and see if it leaks.
