Chinpad

Great weekend, but major suckage.
I'm still in the process of learning how to do a sub. I've gotten it down pretty well where I can do them, a lot of time now. On one attempt I was little too vertical in the tray and I got flipped over the superjet and my thighs ripped the chin pad off. :banghead:
I'm gonna try and re-epoxy the chinpad together. Any one have any recommendations on chinpads for a stock RN pole? I don't want to keep fixing the chinpad.

Another lesson learned, never let a noob try your superjet unless you can supervise. Somehow my MSD Enhancer died in his hands. :banghead: :banghead:

The front "lip" is ripped, and the rear mounts where the bolts screw into are ripped out. All that's left of the rear mounts is the foam.

you can't find a few spots where the two surfaces meet, drill a hole, then put a screw in there??? I have seen it done... Improvise...

I tried marine-tex and zip ties already. The chin pad rips off each time I do a sub...
I do a sub, the superjet and I go under and the chinpad floats off. :banghead:

I would remove chinpad foam and cover....reinforce with some fibreglass, top and bottom than epoxy a nut and bolt in place of the old one and than turf. I did that to a previous one I had and it worked fine.

By turfing it, you also loose a little bit of weight on your pole. Especially when the foam gets water logged. And its a lower profile so the water has less area to grab when subbing. Good luck!
