The instructions call for adhesive on the entire surface...including foam. That's way more than enough to hold them on. Mine have been on for nearly a year with the bostik glue (not 5200) without a single issue.

yea i COVERED the enitre thing w/ 5200..i made sure every inch of the foam and the little bit of glass was covered..like i said no problems..what they need to do is glass the backside too cause they will seperate from the foam as well

We are thinking about more 5200 and stainless screws. Anyone have any more opinions? I want to ride Friday! We do NOT want to take these off anytime soon. I have all next week off :banghead:

Doesn't matter if you did the job perfect.....sometimes they crack. Ask Ross....he fixes his tubbies every 4-6 months.

Blowsion puts foam in them for the same reason every ski manufacturer puts foam in the hulls.
You have to leave the screws in, if you take them out they split like that almost every time.

Put enough 5200 on so it oozes out all around the tubbie, leave the screws in and you won't have any problems.

A tubbie. Do you know what a tubbie is? If not it is a piece of fiberglass that you put on the side of the ski to give it a wider 'footprint' if you will. It helps the ski turn a great amount

As someone else already mentioned, there isn't very much surface area around the lip (foam doesn't count). While I think the Tubbies II's are a better design (hydro-dynamically speaking), the Wamilton's sponson offers a better attachment design.
Since the Tubbies aren't exactly molded to the contour of a ski and must be screwed on in order for it sit tight against the hull, it seems the best option is to sandwich epoxy/glass & layer over Tubbie & hull with more glass.
