Ok, ATM, I am not so sure anything is actually broken, so this may not actually count as carnage. It's pretty good though, you might like it.

I just got my very 1st stand up jet ski. :cheer: I can't take a picture right now (you'll see why) to show you, but I'll post in the "my ski" section soon. That's where I was hoping to make my 1st post. =(

I drive a '96 chevy blazer and just bought a nice '87 650sx as my 1st stand up. I figure, 7' craft, I can put that inside of my truck. It'll be easy, no trailor parking fees and my stuff wont get tampered with if I bring it to work with me.

Well... I managed to get the ski into the truck... now it wont come out. It's a very tight fit. I think the ski is putting pressure on the tailgate causing the latch for the hatch not to release. In any case, 95% of the space in my truck is being used, and I can't use my ski atm.

I CAN'T GET IT OUT!!! :banghead:

drive forwards at a steady speed say 10mph brake hard and the ski should slide forward enough to release the tailgate slide pass seat forward more first

It actually broke last night while loading. Now that I have got the time, I was able to slide a jack stand under the ski to the intake grate. It's not touching right now. There is something broken in the window latch release mech.

That will be a good trick to fix. The plastic on the inside of the tailgate has to come off to get to the mechanism that latches the window. The plastic will break there are 2 screws on the sides that you can't get to with the tailgate latched. SO you are screwed 2 times. one with the truck and the 2nd is that your ski is trapped inside.

It might be easier to do like Ketsair said. Cut the ski in half and take it out the door.

WOO HOOO!!!

I got it fixed, and nothing that wasn't already broke got broke in the process either. With a shaped L-bracket as a tool, I was able to fish the lever through the 1"x1/8" access hole they have in the back of the door. No broken plastic.

Off to the lake!

Edit: well, it's not fixed... it's open, which is good enough to get the ski out.
