search function

Is it me or did the search function change awhile back. now if i type in several keywords it does an or search. i could type in the words dog cat horse and it will search for thread that have any of the words not all of them.

You have to set the sorting method to 'relevancy' under advanced search. I wish it'd default to that instead of by date...

thanks but it still didnt work. i searched for words waterdawg hood mark and one of the first threads had nothing but hood in it. no waterdawg and no mark.

I guess it changed when I switched us to letting the database server do the searching instead of vbulletin. I did that because it's much faster and drops the database backup size to like 1/10 what it was.

I'll dig into it a bit.

In the meantime, on the advanced search page, select Sort By Relevancy, then click the button down lower to Save Search Preferences and it will stick. I'll try to set that as default also.

yeah, I thought I used to be able to do: dog+cat in the search and it would make it an "and", most work this way.

Pwc's search feature works much better. I wish it would get fixed on this board.
