I bought some Hydro-Turf lifters to put on my SJ until the time comes to get footholds. Do you guys have a suggestion on where to place them? Should I place the heel of my foot at the back of the gunwhale and place them just above my foot?

I have already bought the lifters, and the turf I have is brand new. I definitely want foot holds but that will have to wait. Anyone have any advise one where to place them?

I just ordered some lifters myself. I think I'm gonna wait until winter to do the footholds and a new turf setup. I think the lifters will be a huge improvement over what I have now (nothing), especially for a beginner like myself.

Which ones did you buy? I bought the 24" ones so I'm not to worried about placement of front to back. I'm just going to make sure I place them at the right height in order to "wedge" my feet in there. I hear they hold very well with contact cement.

That's what I used. I figure the turf gave them even more support. I used the 2" kicktail and cut it in half. It molds easily with 40 grit sandpaper or a die grinder.
The first time out I did a sub on flat-water and it entered near 90* My Kawi 650 is more fun to ride than my SJ on FW

I bought the 24" lifters, but I was only going to use about 6" at the back. I am going to use some more for hand holds on the hood, and save the rest.
