300/440/550 turfing rails on 650sx??

Hey yall.....my lil brother has a 650sx and has just got his b stock in from hydroturf. We will be turfing this weekend on his ski. My question is this......do you guys turf the tops of the gunwhales where you rest your arms when climbing on. there are some caps on there now. do most just leave the caps on and turf the tray alone or do most people turf the rails aswell. thanks
