Moving your ski...

I was just curious how many people move their ski in the garage by dragging it or turning it around on the cement?

I'll admit I've had to do it when no one is around to give me a hand. You?

i agree with what mark said, why not just use a shop stand on wheels.... if it is the same height as the trailer you should have no problem getting it on and off and moving it around your garage

I have no problem lifting them by myself. Shoot, I put my SJ about 4 ft in the air on saw horses by myself back in January. I just don't have a stand at the moment. It's on the 'to do' list.

20 dollar furniture dolly from home depot. bought two to work on ski's makes it easy to pull the motor because it is low and all you have to do is unbolt and grab it, stand up and it is totally clear of the ski.

With the talk about carts and everything. For those that use a truck bed to transport their ski. How are you getting it on and off and to the beach?

Beach Dolly, beach totes, what ever you want to call them is one way you can do it.

What my buddy and I were thinking about it was some sort of cool work stand that had some sort of hydraulic lift so that you can raise and lower the stand to go from, lets say from your trailer to the bed of your truck. Switching your ski like that all by yourself can be done by other means, but we thought it would be pretty cool stand.

I like the beach dolly but dont want to spend all that much money. Also not sure that they would be high enough to where I could slide the ski off the truck and on to it. Though if I could make one out of PVC and use 2 balloon tires and make it for $50 I prolly would.

Best I found is something like this but I dont really feel like spending $100. Plus if I left the ski on it, I would have to have a ramp on the truck.

I already have a double trailer to take them to inland lakes, pvc stand for home, and cradle dolly. But they all have their drawbacks in some way. Im trying to figure a way to get the ski from the truck to a dolly to walk a couple hundred feet down a paved path to the beach to launch on Lake Michigan

I have that exact harbor freight cart ^^^

Isn't the greatest but works pretty darn good as a work stand, lets me put it onto trailers and into the back of my van pretty well, I even use it to put in sometimes at my lakehouse. I ziptied pvc bunks on it and they're almost still attached. I got mine for 40 though. For that price, its a great cart.
